The cool teleporting kids

We were learning about movie making.

We found it easy to come up with ideas for our movie, and act out the scenes together as a team. We also found it easy to communicate within our group, and agree on what we all needed to do to make the movie.

We found it hard to edit the movie, and also agreeing on the same title. We had trouble figuring out where the scenes were going to take place as well.

We really enjoyed acting out the scenes, talking with the group and coming up with different ideas. We liked using our imagination to come up with different ideas for our movie.

Next time we need to practice more on our editing and acting skills, and need to try working through the editing process together and slower so we can make a better quality movie.

Clickety-Clack Cicada

We have been learning about language features during Literacy. The way we have been doing this is by reading and understanding poems. Some of the features we identified in the poems are metaphors, verbs, onomatopoeia, and adjectives. This week we read Clickety-Clack Cicada by Jill Brasell.

I found it easy to identify some of the language features such as onomatopoeia.

I found it hard to find verbs in the poem because I am just learning about them.

I really enjoyed reading the line What a noisy song! in the poem.

I need to work on discussing the poem more and sharing my ideas with my buddies.

The Loaves

We were learning about metaphors of the poem.

I did not know what metaphors are.

I found It easy to colour in my drawings on the sides.

I found It hard to find more metaphors in the story.

I really enjoyed talking about the metaphors in the poem. My favourite metaphor was about the clouds being loaves of bread.

Next time I can try to make some metaphors for my own writing like the sun is a big orange balloon.

Digital pepeha

 

We were learning about our pepeha.

I found it easy to do the sky using the Explore tool.

I found it hard to do my shapes and my waka.

I really enjoyed everything but not recording my voice.

Next time I need to practice saying it out loud more.
